In an exciting project, empiriecom and the LARS NYSØM brand worked together to develop a better understanding of the brand's target group and optimise brand communication. The starting point was the challenge that Amazon, as the main sales channel, provides little data on shoppers. To change this, a population-representative panel was used. Various groups were identified using targeted questions that shed light on the participants' values and lifestyle. These clusters were then further refined using factor and cluster analyses to find out how differently the target groups react to the LARS NYSØM brand and what associations the brand evokes in potential customers. Two very different target groups emerged: a more material-orientated group and an experience-orientated group. To better understand these segments, demographic data and values were added to create comprehensive personas that can serve as a basis for future marketing strategies. ‘The project was an important step for LARS NYSØM to better understand our target groups and strategically optimise future brand communication,’ say Sebastian Fritz and Patrick Fischer, founders of LARS NYSØM.
